12/02/24 Update from the Tech team - We’re happy to announce that we have now completed the LTI Advantage package, including names and role provisioning services, assignment and grade services, and OAuth2.
Insendi is proud to announce our LTI Advantage certification and release of Learning Tools Interoperability® (LTI®) 1.3 for our platform users, with OAuth 2.0 service implementation expected soon.
The LTI Advantage increases the security and flexibility of education technology (EdTech) tools and systems, such as insendi’s digital learning platform, and OAuth will provide industry-standard protocol for authorisation.
This release allows global insendi users extra functionality when integrating external tools into our platform. It will be particularly helpful for deep linking - a way of synchronising data from tool to LMS. The team is also continuing work on the LTI Advantage package, with grading (sending grades back to insendi), assignments, and user provisioning (such as names and roles) functionalities expected to be completed soon. Versions 1.0 to 1.2 will remain operational after this release.

With the LTI certification, Learning Management Systems (LMS) can more easily integrate remote tools and content in a standardised way. LTI 1.3, the version adopted by insendi, incorporates a new security model for message and service authentication. David adds: “Security is at the core of LTI 1.3, which is of course important for any LMS user. We also take security very seriously, and are pleased that this new certification, as well as our SOC2, will help us to continue to prioritise this.” SOC2 outlines important criteria for managing customer data based on five “trust service principles” - security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy.
